About us

I'm Aidan Timmoney, founder of Kinship Scotland Tours. Born and raised here, with a genuine love of history, travel and good whisky. I studied history at university, guided whisky tastings in Edinburgh, and worked as a travel consultant for an international agency before becoming a tour coordinator for a Scottish tour company. The inspiration for starting Kinship Scotland Tours came from working as a tour coordinator, I realised that Scotland was being done a disservice. Most of the tours offered by other companies follow the same generic itineraries, staying in the same spots that are overcrowded and overpriced. And the one thing I heard again and again from customers was that they wanted to go off the beaten-path and visit small towns and villages.

So I decided to start my own company for people who want to see Scotland at its best, off the beaten path.
